Thank you to "Puff" and "Buddy" Rogers for hosting me in Vincennes. Buddy is the Executive Director of the City's Urban Enterprise Association, and former CFO for the MicroTunes Corporation in Dallas, Texas. Puff has a number of interests, including working to rescue animals and showing classic cars (quite a range).
Buddy is also a history buff, and recounted for me some of the early history of Vincennes. He noted that Vincennes was founded in 1732, making it even older than Savannah. It has a strong French heritage, unusual for Indiana.
Buddy took me by the George Rogers Clark Memorial (see my upcoming post on Vincennes) and described a variety of ideas for making Vincennes a better place to live, and strengthening the local economy. These ranged from loft living downtown, to riverfront development, to restoring historic buildings (something he's already done in Vincennes). Buddy has the true entreprenurial spirit.
